Career Continuance

Nicholas P. O'Neill has spent his entire professional career in sales. After receiving his B.S. degree from Fordham, he spent the majority of his career selling radio advertising time. Among the several New York stations for whom he worked, the list included WNEW-AM and WINS. More recently, he has sold insurance and is still active in that area as a broker. He operates as an independent broker in the employee benefits field.

His connection with Fordham continues. He served as chairman of his class's 25th Jubilee reunion. This reunion was the model for the present day celebrations. A board member and president of the Fordham College Alumni Association, he then served as national chairman of the Alumni Federation. During his tenure as president, the College Alumni Association began an Alumni Retreat Weekend held simultaneously at Mt. Manresa Retreat House, Staten Island, N.Y. and St. Ignatius Retreat House, Manhasset, N.Y.

Seventeen years ago, Nick and classmate Bob Miller initiated a Career Continuance Support Group that meets the last Saturday of each month (unless noted) in the Lowenstein Center, Lincoln Center campus. The meetings are for those out of work or seeking to change jobs or careers. More than a thousand alumni have gone through this program.
