COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE

Thank you for visiting the CPS website!

The college years are a time of change and growth. As new developmental steps are taken, they are often accompanied by both challenges and dilemmas. We believe that the capacity to explore personal concerns and emotions is a sign of strength. As members of the Fordham University community, we at CPS aim to help students address their concerns and build on their strengths, so that they may make the most of their college experience. Our staff provides a variety of services that can help students to gain self-awareness, achieve satisfying relationships, improve their academic performance, set personal goals, and make effective and satisfying career and life choices.

Our mission is to assist students in maintaining their optimum level of mental health and wellness so that they are best able to achieve their goals. This approach to mental health care is in line with cura personalis; a holistic approach with a focus on the emotional, physical, academic, social and, at times, the spiritual growth of each student. We welcome and embrace human diversity in all its forms, including racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientation and gender identity, ability/disability, language, age, spiritual belief, and socioeconomic status.

We offer free individual and group counseling and psychotherapy (Please look at our group page for current listings!). You may also consult with us about concerns regarding friends, family or roommates or, if you are a faculty member or an administrator, your students. We also provide workshops, campus outreach and presentations that can be tailored to your needs.
