The increased speed of internet access is beginning to make Byzantine music available on the internet as audio files. At the moment the best site is probably the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese's web page with files in .wav and RealAudio formats.

To play or listen to sound files - which are very large - you need

• a fast internet connection [28,800bps]
• a computer with a sound card
• appropriate software
