This Certificate Program is dedicated to the memory of Ennis William Cosby. Its goal is to help fulfill his dream that children with learning differences would have their gifts and needs recognized, understood, and addressed early by their classroom teachers.
Fordham University's Graduate School of Education at Lincoln Center and the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation proudly offer The Ennis William Cosby Graduate Certificate Program. This full scholarship program offers a professional development sequence of 18 graduate credits for certified K-2 classroom teachers in New York City.
Young Readers at Risk is a focused, practicum-based experience for certified K-2 classroom teachers. A sequence of six courses is designed to expand the range of strategies teachers use in teaching reading and writing to young children with learning differences within inclusive classrooms.
Each cohort of graduate students in the Certificate Program is selected from hundreds of teachers who attend Fordham open houses. We congratulate Cohort 6; these teachers graduated in January 2007. We have begun the process of selecting a eight cohort of students to enter the program in July of 2007.
