| Sports Communication Institute |
| This summer spend two exciting weeks (July 7-10, 14-17; 9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m.) in the world of sports communication at Fordham University's ninth annual Sports Communication Institute. Earn four credits (CMRU 3350) while gaining hands-on experience in the art of sports writing, broadcasting, sports marketing, and effective sports public relations planning with two instructors and several professional guest speakers from sports business and media. Leave the classroom for field trips with behind-the-scenes views of professional sports media. Please refer to the Course Schedule for additional information. | Pre-College Program |
| Fordham's Pre-College Summer Program is an excellent opportunity for serious students to get a head start on their post-high school academic careers by taking a college course for credit, with the additional option of attending special free workshops preparing for the college admission and application process. Qualified high school students may apply to enroll in selected Fordham second session summer courses (June 30 - August 5). This is a commuter program (no housing available), open to mature students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better, who will be entering their senior year of high school in Fall 2008. | New York City Summer Internship Program |
| The Summer in the City New York Internship Program is a directed 8-10 week summer program, beginning May 27, open to a select group of visiting college and university students of good standing. Earn 4 internship credits (SOEU 4900) while working and participating in a seminar with other interning students. Assistance in securing internship placement in business, finance, marketing, media, advertising, public relations, art, theater, government, non-profits, human resources, and more. Our students have recently interned at Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Ernst and Young, FAO Schwarz, Goldman Sachs, MTV, Merrill Lynch, NBC Sports, NYPD, Sony Music, The League of American Theatres, U.S. Secret Service, and more. Students who register and deposit by our Spring deadline will be assisted in applying for, interviewing, and securing an internship placement. Students who have taken a Business Communication course are eligible to take this special advanced two-week program (May 24-30; June 2-4; 9 a.m.-Noon and 1-4 p.m.), designed by our College of Business Administration. Earning three credits, students meet in the morning and afternoon to learn and put into practice related skills that matter most in the professional workplace. | Theories and Applications in Contemporary Ethics |
CEGA 6100 Theories and Applications in Contemporary Ethics
May 19 – 21, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Rose Hill

This intensive three-day course is designed to provide cross-disciplinary perspectives on moral theory and applied ethics. Using a team-teaching approach, this course will bring together faculty from at least six different disciplines to provide foundational knowledge about moral theory with contemporary applications. In addition to seminars on foundations in moral philosophy, moral theology, and moral psychology the course will feature lectures and case discussions on issues of current social importance. Enrollment is competitive and students must be nominated by a faculty member. If selected, students will be invited to register for the course. All participants will receive tuition remission. | The Institute of American Language and Culture |
| The Institute of American Language and Culture (IALC), located on the Lincoln Center campus, offers part-time and intensive English courses for non-native speakers interested in improving their English language skills for social, professional, or academic purposes. Courses are available from beginning through university preparation levels. American culture is an essential component of each class. The IALC offers highly qualified and experienced faculty, limited class size, access to the University's audio-video language laboratory , and supplemental grammar and TOEFL workshops for registered students.
