How To Apply

APPLICANTS FOR FALL ADMISSION:
Applicants for Admission to Fordham Graduate School of Arts and Sciences apply for Financial Aid, including Distinguished Fellowships for entering students, at the same time as they apply for admission: no later than December 12, 2007 for Psychology applicants and no later than January 2, 2008 for all other applicants.  After the first week of March, the GSAS sends letters to all applicants informing them whether Financial Aid is being awarded.  Financial Aid awardees must respond to the GSAS offers by April 17, 2008.

CURRENT STUDENTS:
Matriculated students (both those expecting to continue Financial Aid as well as those not currently receiving such) are asked to submit completed Financial Aid Application forms to their academic Departments or Programs by January 2, 2008.  Students should receive these forms in the second week of December.  This form is required for regular Financial Aid.  Students will be notified in early November about how they may apply for Distinguished Fellowships (Alumni Dissertation Fellowships and Senior Teaching Fellowships; see below for additional requirements for Distinguished Fellowship applicants).  After the first week of March, the GSAS sends letters to all applicants informing them whether Financial Aid is being awarded.  Financial Aid awardees must respond to the GSAS offers by April 17, 2008.

Distinguished Fellowships
The Distinguished Fellowship application form must be submitted to your department/program by January 2nd. The GSAS is moving toward an electronic process for handling distinguished fellowship applications.  Therefore, these materials should be submitted in an electronic format where possible, and in most cases submitted to your graduate director unless otherwise specified by your department.

Please note that instead of mentors submitting their recommendations in a sealed/signed envelope, we ask that they email the recommendation to the graduate director (unless otherwise specified by department).  Please inform your mentor of this when requesting a recommendation.
