PROGRAM COSTS:

FINANCIAL AID:
In academic year 2010 - 2011, 27 Ph.D. students were enrolled in the applied developmental psychology program.  

In the applied developmental psychology program, 22 (69%) students had stipends, including:

  • 1 (5%) distinguished fellowships
  • 13 (59%) graduate assistantships
  • 2 (9%) teaching associates
  • 1 (5%) teaching fellows
  • 5 (23%) external funding

 

In the applied developmental psychology program, 24 (75%) students had scholarships, including:

  • 1 (8%) distinguished fellowships
  • 13 (54%) graduate assistantships
  • 2 (8%) teaching associates

TIME TO COMPLETION:

Since 2001, Fordham’s Applied Developmental Psychology program has had:

  • 2 masters' only graduate, with a median time to degree of 1.6 years
  • 46 students earned a master’s degree en route to a doctorate, with a median registered time to degree of 1.4 years
  • 11 students earned a doctorate with a non-Fordham master’s, with a median registered time to degree of 4.4 years
  • 46 students earned a doctorate  with a Fordham master’s, with a median registered time to degree of 5.7 years for both degrees. 


INCOMING STUDENTS:

Of 11 admitted applicants for Fall 2010, 6 (36%) made up the entering doctoral cohort.

The entering cohort had GRE score (2008 - 2010) ranges of:

  • Verbal: 570-630
  • Quantitative: 570-670
  • Analytical Writing: 5-5.5

The average Bachelor’s GPA for incoming students:

  • 3.64

100% of 1st year Ph.D. students have merit based stipends and full tuition scholarships. 

 

DEGREES AWARDED:

In academic year 2010 - 2011, Fordham awarded 7 degrees in applied developmental psychology.
