FINANCIAL AID:
In academic year 2010 - 2011, 135 students were enrolled in the english program.  

In the english program, 70 (57%) students had stipends, including:

TIME TO COMPLETION:

Since 2001, Fordham’s English program has had:

  • 75 masters only graduates, with a median registered time to degree of 2.0 years
  • 34 students earned a master’s degree en route to a doctorate, with a median registered time to degree of 2.0 years
  • 19 students earned a doctorate with a non-Fordham master’s, with a median registered time to degree of 8.4 years
  • 26 students earned a doctorate with a Fordham master’s, with a median registered time to degree of 9.7 years for both degrees. 


INCOMING STUDENTS:

Of 95 admitted applicants for Fall 2010, 31 (33%) made up the entering doctoral cohort.

  • 11 (35%) Ph.D. students
  • 20 (65%) M.A. students

The entering cohort had GRE score (2008 - 2010) ranges of:

  • Verbal: 570-680
  • Quantitative: 490-640
  • Analytical Writing: 4.5-5.5

The average Bachelor’s GPA for incoming students:

  • 3.59

100% of 1st year Ph.D. students have merit based stipends and full tuition scholarships.
