I have found teaching to be one of the best experiences during my graduate work. This year I taught courses on statistics, abnormal psychology, and theories of psychotherapy. The broad scope of these courses helped me explore different pedagogical styles, analyzing what approaches work best for different students. It also afforded me the opportunity to step back from the material I covered during my coursework, and realize how dynamic it is when explaining it and interacting with students who are new to psychology.
