Professor Jeffrey Cohen


Professor Jeffrey Cohen of the Department of Political Science has been awarded a Visiting Senior Research Scholar Fellowship from the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics, of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, of Princeton University for academic year 2008-2009.   

Since its creation in 2000, the Center generally awards only one Visiting Senior Research Fellowship per year. Past recipients have included professors Robert Putnam of Harvard, Keith Krehbiel of Stanford, and John Huber of Columbia. 

Professor Cohen, who has been at Fordham since 1997, previously won several other prestigious awards, including one for the best paper on the presidency presented at the American Political Science association in 2006, for the best paper published in Presidential Studies Quarterly in 2004, and his book, Presidential Responsiveness and Public Policy Making won the Richard E. Neustadt Award for the best book published on the presidency in 1997. His most recent book, the Presidency in an Era of 24 Hour News, will be published by Princeton University Press in spring 2008. During his fellowship year, Professor Cohen will conduct research on the president's agenda.
