The Owl Newsletter

Click here to read the September 08 Issue of "The Owl"

The Owl is an online newsletter which focuses on graduate student life. The newsletter focuses on a variety of issues pertaining to graduate students and all GSAS students are encouraged to contribute, either through submitting an article or becoming part of the newsletter committee. Some suggestions for potential topics for articles include:

  • Learning experiences (overseas internships, summer program/work, volunteering, conference/symposia planning or development etc.
  • Traveling (i.e. summer/weekend getaways, vacations, daytrips)
  • Conferences or Symposia
  • Recent academic events (either on campus or at other local schools and/or public venues)
  • Arts and culture reviews (concerts, films, music, performances, expositions, etc.)
  • Graduate Student Concerns (housing, health insurance, social life, time management, political issues of
      relevance, etc.)

There is also room for an editorial discussion section in which students can submit shorter submissions on their concerns, experiences or other topics that are relevant to graduate student life at Fordham University. This differs from the last bullet listed above in that the submissions should be thoughts on a topic rather than a detailed article pertaining to that issue.

If interested, please send submissions from any of the above categories to studentgsas. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, please submit those to this email address as well.
