Divisions and Programs
Fordham University's Graduate School of Education consists of four academic divisions, each division houses a number of programs.
The sections below outline GSE's divisions and lists the programs within each division.
Contemporary Learning & Interdisciplinary Research (CLAIR)
Through interdisciplinary research, teaching, and learning, the PhD program in Contemporary Learning and Interdisciplinary Research (CLAIR) is committed to finding innovative solutions that address the multi-faceted challenges of education in a technologically complex, globalized world. Students in the program will participate in an interdisciplinary research core and experiences designed to develop their knowledge and skills as researchers. Read more.

Curriculum & Teaching (C&T)
Prepares and develops teachers at the initial and advanced levels who are committed to professional and school excellence, reflective practice, and lifelong learning. Read more.

Educational Leadership, Administration, & Policy (ELAP)
Prepares future administrators, supervisors, principals, superintendents and other leaders in public and non-public schools and church settings. Also develops educators and trainers for other settings such as business, industry, government, hospitals, museums and libraries. Read more.

Psychological & Educational Services (PES)
Prepares professionals for positions in PreK–12 schools, mental health settings; counseling services in higher education, adult education, business, industry, and independent psychological practice. Also provides advanced training for teachers and individuals interested in research or the development and evaluation of educational programs and materials. Read more.

Master of Science in Teaching Programs

Early Childhood Education
Birth to Grade 2
Childhood Education
Grades 1-6
Adolescence Education
Grades 7-12
Subject Area
Students receive an M.S.T. and subject-area certification, grades 7-12
Exceptional Adolescents
Students receive an MST and certification to teach special education in grades 7-12 in any of the following ways:Special Education
Prepares teachers for support roles in special education such as consultant teacher, resource room service providers, and integrated co-teachers.
Special Education & Subject Area Certification
Dual certification program leading to certification as Classroom Teacher, Adolescents - Grades 7-12, in a specific subject area and as Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist with an extension in a specific subject area.
Special Education & Subject Area Specialization
Prepares teachers to be the teacher of record for a special class in a specific subject area. In addition, candidates will also be qualified for support roles in special education such as consultant teacher, resource room service providers, and integrated co-teachers in all subject areas..
