Adolescence Education




Adolescence Education
These programs lead to a Master of Science in Teaching degree and Initial New York State certification as a subject area teacher for grades 7-12.

Exceptional Adolescents: Generalist
This program prepares teachers for support roles in special education such as consultant teacher, resource room service providers, and integrated co-teachers.

General and Exceptional Adolescents
The program in adolescence and special education is an integrated dual certification program that leads to New York state certification as subject area classroom teacher for adolescents grades 7-12 and students with disabilities 7-12 generalist with a subject area extension.

Exceptional Adolescents with Subject Area Extension
The masters program in adolescence special education prepares teachers to be the teacher of record for a subject area special class. In addition, candidates will also be qualified for support roles in special education such as consultant teacher, resource room service providers, and integrated co-teachers in all subject areas.
