Early Childhood Education Programs
Early learning experiences have a significant effect on an individual. Fordham’s Early Childhood programs are approved by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), monitored by The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and lead by professional standards of NAEYC, Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and its Division of Early Childhood (DEC). Fordham’s Graduate School of Education is the only nationally accredited teacher education institution in New York City.
For students with special educational needs, the early years are especially critical. The programs below offer in initial teacher education for persons preparing to be early childhood (birth – grade 2) classroom teachers:
