Thank you for your interest in Fordham University. We welcome you to register for classes as a Non-matriculated student. Here are some particulars that you should be aware of as a Non-matriculated student:

  • Prior written approval by an academic advisor is necessary prior to registration for courses by non-matriculated students.
  • Individuals may apply to enroll as non-matriculated students and take up to, but not more than, 12 credits
  • You must provide proof on an earned baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; provide proof of identity; and register during the registration period prior to the semester or during walk in registration.
  • Enrollment as a non-matriculated student does NOT imply acceptance to or eligibility for any degree program of the Graduate School.
  • Courses taken as a non-matriculated student do not automatically count toward a graduate degree program to which the student subsequently applies and is admitted.
  • Non-matriculated students will be subject to payments for the regular tuition rate plus the following additional fees: University General Fee, GSE TK20 Assessment Fee and Technology Access Fee.
  • Non-matriculated students are not eligible to take courses at the advanced level (level 7000 or higher), courses requiring pre- or co-requisites, independent studies, tutorials, any field placement or practica, or any course reserved for a cohort group.
  • Seniors in the undergraduate divisions of Fordham University whose programs do not require their full-time attendance may register as non-matriculated students, with the written consent of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and their own dean, for appropriate courses up to a maximum of six credits.
  • If individuals are already accepted to another Fordham academic program, they must take an official leave of absence from or withdraw from the program prior to seeking non-matriculated status in the Graduate School of Education.
  • Unsuccessful applicants to graduate degree programs in the Graduate School of Education are not eligible to enroll as non-matriculated students.
  • Non-matriculated students are not eligible for Graduate School of Education financial aid.
