Welcome to the Fordham University Graduate School of Education! After working in the field of political journalism for five years, I decided to pursue a new career in counseling and psychology, and enrolled at Fordham in the summer of 2011. Applying to graduate school (and then choosing a program) can be overwhelming, and I look forward to helping you in any way I can throughout the application and enrollment process. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have about GSE programs or student life at Fordham. I look forward to hearing from you!

Why I Chose Fordham
When I applied to graduate school, I looked for a program that offered a challenging but supportive learning environment. Specifically, I wanted to pursue my education at an institution that was known for an approachable and engaged faculty, and that fostered a cooperative rather than competitive atmosphere among the student body.
In addition, I looked for a curriculum that emphasized social justice and cultural competence in the training of mental health professionals. For all of these reasons, GSE was a great fit for my academic and professional goals. I am more than halfway through my masters program, and have found the coursework to be engaging, and the faculty highly accessible.
Future Aspirations
I hope to continue my education at GSE, and will apply to the doctoral program in Counseling Psychology. Upon completing my education, I plan to pursue licensure (as a mental health counselor and/or counseling psychologist).
I hope to combine clinical work, teaching, and research. I am particularly interested conducting research on and working with sufferers of psychosomatic pain.
