Addressing School Readiness Gaps In Urban Settings Using An Early Intervening Approach

Overview:
This five-day Summer Institute will provide an in-depth understanding of the challenges and difficulties teachers, other professionals, and schools face in building a high quality inclusive classroom to ensure high quality interactions, relationships, and positive social and learning outcomes for all young children.
The Institute will provide hands-on learning experiences that will include practical solutions addressing difficulties in language, sensory integration, environmental arrangement, curriculum, and behavior guidance. More importantly, early approaches of evidence-based interventions and program models will be embedded throughout all the sessions. Presenters (researchers and practitioners) will share recent research regarding evidence-based practices and high-quality intervention childhood program models so that participants will take home newly learned skills to work more effectively with young children and families.
