Programs in counseling PSYCHOLOGYdevelop individuals for positions in P–12 schools and at mental health settings for counseling services in higher education. At the doctoral level, the program leads to academic careers in teaching and research, college counseling centers, hospitals, mental health settings, and independent psychological practice.
Programs in educational psychology provide advanced training for teachers andindividuals interested in research or the development and evaluation of educational programs and materials. The educational psychology program also develops individuals who wish to become instructional designers for P–12 schools, for higher education, adult education, business or industry.
Programs in school psychology develop individuals for positions in P–12 schools, for psychological services to children in healthservice settings, for academic and research careers, and for independent psychological practice. Doctoral Program in school psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association, approved by the National Association of School Psychologists through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and registered with theNew York State Department of Education for purposes of school psychology certificationand professional licensing in psychology.
