Dear Colleague in Ministry:
We are happy to announce that the Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education at Fordham University will sponsor its third annual "Co-Workers in the Vineyard" Convocation on September 25, 2009.
Our late beloved Cardinal Avery Dulles was a strong voice at the United States Bishops' Conference in championing the cause of lay ministry in the watershed "Co-Workers in the Vineyard" document. Fordham Univeristy proudly carries his legacy in providing a venue in the tri-state area for the implementation of the vision of this document. A Consortium of twelve Jesuit universities was formed in response to the fIrst Convocation held on April 4, 2007. The Jesuit universities are committed to collaborate in sharing our resources for the formation of lay ministers in service to the Church.
The Convocation on September 25th will be a wonderful opportunity for parish staffs to come as groups as part of your pastoral and personal development. You will be seated at tables which will provide an opportunity for staff to engage in discussion and dialogue throughout the day. You will note on the brochures that there is a special fee for groups of fIve or more.
Whether you choose to come as staff members or individually, I assure you that you will have an enriching experience and that you will be warmly welcomed to our beautiful campus. I look forward to seeing you on September 25th. Until then, please be assured of my prayers and deep respect for you and all that you do for others.
This pamphlet contains all of the details for the event. You may RSVP using the online form or by downloading and sending the RSVP card attached to the pamphlet.
Sincerely yours,
Dean
