 Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies  

This degree prepares leaders to serve the Church in parishes, diocesan offices,
schools, hospitals and other faith-based organizations. 
Available on-line and on-campus 
Designed to meet the requirements for pastoral ministers set out by the USCCB and the National Association
of Lay Ministers. 
 
42 credit program 

Courses cover scripture, moral and systematic theology. 
Courses also include offerings in all four academic areas of our School: Spirituality, Pastoral Counseling,
Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry. 
Provides a solid foundation for students seeking to follow many different career paths in ministry. 
Fordham University’s Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education has a 50 year history of serving
those in ministry. In addition to the MAPS Degree we offer certificates, masters degrees and doctoral degrees in
Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry, Spirituality and Pastoral Counseling. 
Graduates of our programs in Pastoral Studies serve as diocesan directors, parish pastoral ministers, teachers
and principals in faith-based schools, and executives in new ministries.
