| Sixth Annual Sapientia et Doctrina Celebration
The Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education presents the sixth annual Sapientia et Doctrina Celebration on the evening of October 21 at the Rose Hill Campus, McGinley ballroom.
An evening to honor those who have contributed to the mission of the School and the renewal of the Church. The evening has become a gathering place, not only for alumni but for many others who share the ministries and ideals that are embodied in the School’s programs and served by its graduates.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Rev. Gregory Boyle, SJ, author of Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion, a series of essays about his work as a pastor working in a neighborhood with the highest concentration of gang activity in Los Angeles. Rev. Boyle is the founder and CEO of Homeboy Industries an organization offering job training and encouragement so that young people could work together and learn the mutual respect that comes from collaboration.
