Sapientia et Doctrina 2009

Dear Alumni,
We are pleased to announce that the fourth annual Sapientia et Doctrina Celebration, sponsored by the Alumni Association of Fordham University’s Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education (GRE), will be held Friday evening, October 16, in the McGinley Center Ballroom on the Rose Hill campus.
Formal invitations will be mailed in the summer. In the meantime, please mark your calendar and plan to join us for this special evening.
We also invite you to nominate candidates for the 2009 Sapientia et Doctrina Awards. Like the celebration itself, the awards take their name from Fordham’s motto, which means Wisdom and Knowledge. Each year at the Sapienta et Doctrina Celebration, GRE and the Alumni Association recognize and honor the work of people who serve the church or society with distinction in one of the following or related areas:
Parish Ministry | Religious Education | Youth Ministry | Young Adult Ministry | Spiritual Direction | Pastoral Counseling | Social Justice
Sapientia et Doctrina Award recipients are people who do the daily work of the Lord, often without adequate recognition for their contributions. Nominees need not be Fordham alumni.
If you would like to nominate someone for this distinctive honor, please complete the enclosed from and return it to us by March 2. The alumni committee will select the individuals to be honored. Those people selected for recognition will need to be available to attend the event.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on October 16, as we join together to celebrate the Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education and its many distinguished alumni.
Finally, please do stay in touch. Write to us at us at gre@fordham.edu so that we may update our e-contact list. In addition, please know that GRE welcomes submissions from our alumni for the next issue of Quadrivium. Feel free to send us a submission via e-mail; be sure to include “Alumni News” in the subject heading.
Sincerely,
Reverend Anthony Ciorra
