Prospective Students

Thank you for you interest in the Graduate School of Social Service.  We have been preparing social workers to meaningfully improve the lives of people and communities in need since 1916.

Today, we rank among the top 20 graduate schools of social work in the country.  Our school has grown from a small brownstone building in Manhattan to one of the largest social work programs in the world.  We are known for our diversity, our flexible programs and our personal commitment to our students and the field of social work.

All of our programs - B.A.S.W., M.S.W. and Ph.D. - offer a solid grounding in social work theory with hands-on training in a fieldwork assignment, where the theory is turned into practice.  Whether you are interested in a career in clinical practice, leadership, research or teaching, we have the resources that will help you succeed.
