Individual career guidance and workshops are available for enrolled students and alumni throughout the academic year. Please check the Monthly Events Calendar or the printed calendars at your campus for upcoming workshops.

The New York City Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-NYC), with 9,200 members, is one of the largest chapters of NASW in the country. Founded in 1955, NASW-NYC represents professional social workers who are working throughout the five boroughs, primarily in public and non-profit organizations. Social workers are also in private practice and in other for-profit service related settings.

Over 1,000 of NASW-NYC's members are social work students in graduate degreee programs, and the Chapter has made it a priority to support graduates as they move into their careers as new professionals. NASW is a valuable resource in your job search whether you are a student or already working in the field.

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE
THE LICENSING EXAM?

Fordham GSS has scheduled free LMSW TEST TAKING STRATEGIES seminars. These seminars include preparing for the exam and understanding different test taking approaches. They will be held by Aminda Heckman, who is the Field Education Coordinator and a professor at Mercy College. Sign up will be available on the door of Room 717-E. You will only need to attend one seminar.

GSS is also providing free TARGETED LEARNING SESSIONS for licensing preparation, held by Dr. Linda White-Ryan and Dr. Janna Heyman. They will be identical sessions covering Assessment & Diagnosis, Practice, and Professional Values & Ethics.
