
ELAINE CONGRESS Professor and Associate Dean
Dr. Congress received her B.A. from Brown University, her M.A. in Psychology from the New School for Social Research., her M.A.T. in English from Yale University, her M.S.W. from Columbia Universityand her D.S.W. from CUNY. She has published widely on social work, ethics, and cultural diversity. Her book include Multicultural Perspectives in Working with Families and Social Work Values and Ethics: Identifying and Resolving Professional Dilemmas. She developed the culturagram for social work practice with culturally diverse families. Dr. Congress has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Progressive Human Services, Social Work, Advances in Social Work, Social Thought and Journal on Immigrants and Refugees. She is past President of the New York City chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. Currently she is the UN Representative for the International Federation of Social Workers and is the North American representative on the IFSW International Ethics Committee.
