QIN GAO Assistant Professor
Dr. Gao received her B.A. from China Youth College for Political Science, her M.A. from Peking University, and her Ph.D. in social policy and policy analysis from Columbia University School of Social Work. Dr. Gao's research centers on social policies and their impact on families and their children in an international context. Her current research projects include: 1)transitions in the Chinese social benefit system and the impact of this system on poverty, income inequality, and family economic wellbeing; and 2)the impact of welfare reform, the Earned Income Tax Credit policy, and state Child Support Enforcement on family expenditures and ownership of durable goods among low-income families and their children in the United States. Dr. Gao currently teaches research and policy in the masters program at Fordham's Lincoln Center campus.
