"Connecting" is what the Beck Institute for Religion and Poverty does for those in the faith community who share with us a commitment to the poor.  Our web site is an exciting way to reach out to collaborate with you and to connect you to others where faith in action matters.

This web site has been set up to provide you with helpful links to informative organizations and important information. Through our links you can connect with potential collaborators throughout New York City. Our site will help you find others who advocate for and work with the homeless and hungry, those struggling with substance abuse and mental health needs, those helping immigrants to find employment, those concerned about working for a living wage and more. 

On this site you can find information about our mission and our advisors, people who have long been committed contributors to what works in collaboration, as we promote the well being of all children, families, women and men who live on the margin in New York City. You can also find a schedule of Beck Institute upcoming events and information about our previous programs in our archives.  Additionally, you can find educational resources and a page for students.

We will frequently post articles, reviews from faculty, and brief notes of inspiration that we gather as we meet with you in your programs and congregations. We are about learning together, passing on "lessons learned", and looking for opportunities to build our capacity to advocate and serve in effective and transformative ways.

We invite you to join with us by participating in events that we sponsor throughout the year and by letting us know about your interests and what you are doing. We encourage you to contact us with suggestions and ideas. Our mission is to support you in your important work meeting the needs of the poor in our city.
