Dr. Marlene Cooper is an Associate Professor in the Advanced Year Clinical Concentration. Her clinical area of specialization is Children and Families. She teaches clinical practice, cognitive and behavioral social work practice with children, adolescents, and their families, the clinical case seminar, and the integrative seminar. She is a faculty advisor for many Fordam's New Jersey students. Dr. Cooper is the co-author of "Clinical Social Work Practice: An Integrated Approach," and numerous articles and book chapters on a range of clinical subjects that inform practice and practice research. Her textbook has been translated into Chinese, and a 3rd English language edition will be avaible next spring.

Dr. Cooper has done research on violence against children and families in Jamaica, West Indies, and developed training protocols to help Jamaican human service workers intervene with this traumatized population. Her work in Jamaica has been supported through research grants from Fordham University.
