Roslyn Chernesky

has been a Professor at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service for 25 years. She served as chair of the Administration Concentration and teaches Master’s courses in administration, supervision and staff development, client centered management, human service agencies, and program and proposal development, and organizational theory in the Doctoral program. Her publications focus on issues related to managing social service agencies and providing services. These range from managing multicultural workplaces and culturally competent services, the impact of changing agency environments, and funding trends and priorities to  the under-representation of women in management. As a research and training consultant to public and private organizations, Dr. Chernesky’s projects include the delivery of HIV/AIDS case management services, a needs assessment of older adults, an evaluation of a settlement house initiative to integrate girls and boys programming, and the implementation of continuous quality improvement teams and projects.  Dr. Chernesky chaired the School’s past two re-accreditation studies and serves as a Council on Social Work Education accreditation site team visitor. She received the Career Achievement Award from the Association of Community Organization and Social Administration (ACOSA) in 2002, and a Bene Merenti Award for Service from Fordham University in 2001. Dr. Chernesky earned her master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her doctoral degree from City University of New York.
