Scholarship Information

Scholarships
This page contains a list of scholarship opportunities that may be helpful to students of the Graduate School of Social Service. Additions to this page are made as information becomes available to the financial aid coordinator.

Financial need-based Scholarship
The Graduate School of Social Service has some funds available for both continuing and entering MSW students. The award is financial need-based. To be eligible, you must be accepted by the school and be a full-time student (as evidenced by being enrolled in field instruction). To receive a financial need-based scholarship, you must file the FAFSA for your financial assessment. It is not necessary that you receive a bank loan to apply for this scholarship. The Graduate School of Social Service's Financial Aid Committee reviews your application and awards funds according to your demonstrated need. Recipients are notified by mail. The Financial need-based Scholarship is generally awarded as the equivalent of 3, 6, or 9 credits (1 to 3 classes) depending on need and the selected plan of study. Continuing students in the Graduate School of Social Service must apply for the Financial need-based Scholarship by completing a Graduate School of Social Service Financial need-based Scholarship application form before March 31st of each year for the following September. They must meet this deadline for consideration. These application forms are available in early February. Incoming students will receive the financial need-based scholarship application form with their acceptance letters if they indicate on their application that they want financial aid information. There is no deadline for incoming students, but early application assures a better chance of receiving this assistance.
