Transfer student community

Fordham’s transfer students are a diverse group — in terms of their hometowns, interest in business, prior college experience, academic qualifications and more. No matter what your background, there is a place for you at the Gabelli School of Business.

Geography
Our transfer students come from afar — Poland, Ecuador, France, China and Japan — but also from much nearer by, including Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago and the five boroughs of New York City. This creates a dynamic group of student scholars and learners.

Areas of interest
The world of business is as wide-ranging as our students. As a result, Gabelli offers a full slate of business academics, including accounting, business economics, communications and media management, entrepreneurship, finance, information and communication systems, law and ethics, management and marketing. Students can choose to combine these elements at varying levels of depth — as majors, concentrations, second concentrations and minors — to customize the academic program that works best for them.

One unique aspect of Gabelli is that students are able to minor in non-business subjects. Students have blended marketing majors with chemistry minors, finance majors with math minors, accounting majors with theater minors and more.

Academic profile
A typical transfer student in the Gabelli School of Business has a 3.5 cumulative GPA or better from his or her prior institution and, though the scores are not considered unless an applicant chooses to submit them, a combined math/verbal SAT of 1260 or higher.

About 70 percent of Gabelli transfers come from other four-year colleges or universities, and about 30 percent come from junior and community colleges.
