Personal and professional development

When it comes to life after graduation, it's not about merely getting "a job." It's about launching you into the right career. Gabelli's four-year personal and professional development program helps students reach that goal.

The process begins with self-discovery: Special programs help students decide which area of business is the most interesting and best suited to their strengths. Students then take courses that prepare them to land the best internships in the field. Finally, they work with career advisors to secure full-time jobs, tapping into Fordham’s ties with more than 2,600 companies and the power of its alumni network.

Fordham offers career services at the university level, of course. But the Gabelli program goes above and beyond — specifically to connect students with careers in business. This additional layer of attention and dedication ensures that each Gabelli student can realize his or her vision for a business career.

Gabelli's Personal and Professional Development Center, led by a full-time director and staff, coordinates the following services:

  • Internship placement
  • Post-graduation career search
  • Résumé development
  • Interviewing practice
  • Networking skill development
  • Hands-on case-study sessions with industry executives
  • Field-specific advising/coaching in accounting, finance and marketing
