Career Placement Specialist
Nancy McCarthy, Gabelli's career placement specialist, has been dedicated to meeting the needs of Fordham undergraduates since 1987. By teaching students to polish their résumés, develop their overall self-presentation and understand how to ace an interview, she has helped to lay the groundwork for many successful careers. Dean McCarthy also works closely with the Fordham alumni network to place students in internships and full-time jobs.
Dean McCarthy has held many positions at the university, most recently as dean of the Gabelli senior class. She created a for-credit Business Communication Internship course and helped to design the summer Applied Business Communications class that has been taught at Gabelli for more than a decade. She also played a role in establishing an ongoing relationship with University College Dublin, which has grown into a popular study-abroad destination for Gabelli students. Dean McCarthy holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in liberal arts with a focus on communication.

Lisa Henkoff's extensive career in financial services recruiting includes a position as a vice president in Merrill Lynch's global markets and investment banking lateral recruiting team and a decade at Lazard, where she had broad responsibility for lateral and campus recruiting and the firm's internal review process. Prior to that, Ms. Henkoff was a coordinator at the management consulting firm ASI, where she coordinated assessment workshops for high-performing individuals from Fortune 500 companies. She joined the Personal and Professional Development Center staff at the Gabelli School of Business in 2010 and holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Boston University.
Gina Hill LoBasso
Pre-Professional Advisor: Marketing
Gina Hill LoBasso, marketing advisor and director of the Marketing Leadership Program, has more than 25 years of experience across business and academia, specializing in the areas of marketing strategy, advertising, branding and sales management. She recently earned her Ph.D. in organizational leadership and management.
Dr. Hill LoBasso’s industry experience includes more than 11 years in business-to-business marketing and sales management, most recently as director of direct marketing sales for computer publisher Ziff Davis. There, she managed a successful sales team and oversaw all aspects of sales training and coaching, development of domestic and international sales and marketing strategies, and creation of corporate relationships with Microsoft, IBM, Apple and others. Dr. Hill LoBasso has consulted for various for-profit and nonprofit organizations on domestic and international operations. Her responsibilities have included developing competitive marketing and sales strategies and designing professional development and management skills workshops.
On the academic side, Dr. Hill LoBasso has taught marketing at Pace University and at Fordham, and she has served as an assistant professor of mass communication at Iona College, from which she holds an M.B.A. She earned her doctorate from Capella University with a dissertation titled "Exploring Innovative Opportunity Identification in Transforming Organizational Leadership: Exploratory Qualitative Inquiry."
Pre-Professional Advisor: Accounting
Tara Naughton is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York. She began her professional career in the audit practice of KPMG and spent five years working as a CPA in both public accounting and private industry. She then made the transition into campus recruiting with KPMG and devoted 10 years to various roles within its recruiting organization, rising to become the Northeast area director of university recruiting. In this role, she collaborated with KPMG's top leadership and was instrumental in meeting the firm's hiring needs and directing its on-campus initiatives. Ms. Naughton joined the Gabelli School's Personal and Professional Development Center in 2012.
