As dean of the business faculty and dean of the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University, Donna Rapaccioli, Ph.D., fosters a business education that goes beyond the standard — from encouraging research and teaching that bridge the traditional boundaries of business disciplines to ensuring that students graduate with good writing skills, a grounding in the liberal arts, and an understanding of how business can contribute to the advancement of society.
Dean Rapaccioli has a distinguished history with Fordham University. After years of service as a full-time member of the business faculty, she took on an administrative role in 2007 with her appointment as dean of the Gabelli School of Business. In July 2010, Dean Rapaccioli expanded her responsibilities to also serve as the dean of the business faculty.
In keeping with Fordham's commitment to service, Dean Rapaccioli sits on the board of trustees of Emmanuel College in Boston, the advisory board of the International Association of Jesuit Business Schools, the steering committee of Fordham's Consortium for Social Justice, and the board of advisors of the Fordham Corporate Law Center. She also serves on Fordham's international initiatives advisory group, a reflection of how highly she values global perspective and international experience in business education.
Dean Rapaccioli holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Fordham University and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in accounting from New York University's Stern School of Business. She has developed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses, including International Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis, and has taught at the executive MBA level. Her scholarly articles have been published in academic journals, she is co-author of two book chapters, and she continues to serve as an ad hoc reviewer for academic journals. Dean Rapaccioli serves on AACSB accreditation team visits, has been a presenter at numerous academic and professional conferences, and maintains her industry connections by lecturing on accounting and finance topics and by consulting for numerous investment banks in New York City.
