Fordham's Study Abroad Program

The College of Business Administration encourages qualified students to study for a semester in a foreign country. Foreign study is arranged for eligible students who desire to enrich their educational experience by increasing their foreign language proficiency and/or gaining an understanding of other cultures. Through consortia and affiliation agreements, Fordham University offers one of the most extensive networks for foreign study. This includes exchange agreements with universities in Mexico, Spain, and Brazil; and an extensive range of direct enroll and special academic focus programs in Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America .
Fordham students have access to short-term (summer) as well as full-term academic programs around the world. Full-term (semester/academic year) study abroad is normally done during junior year and it requires extensive preparation and research, particularly during freshman and sophomore years. Students earn the right to study abroad by high academic performance (a 3.0 GPA and favorable recommendations from major advisors and faculty are required), a clearly reasoned academic purpose, appropriate preparation, and conduct that demonstrates genuine enthusiasm for learning about, and experiencing other cultures.
College of Business Administration students normally consult with their Dean who helps them determine how the courses to be taken abroad will count towards their degree. These courses are usually free-electives, but CBA participants in the UCD/Quinn School of Business, The Beijing Center (Loyola Chicago University), and the Universitat Ramón Llull (Barcelona) programs might also take courses in their areas of concentration.
