Fordham University The Jesuit University of New York

From the Dean of CBA, Donna Rapaccioli, PhD:

When thinking through your choice of college, and trying to determine which one is the best for you, it’s only natural to ask yourself, “Why Fordham?”

According to Business Week Magazine, The College of Business Administration at Fordham University is one of the top 50 business schools in the nation. Many factors went into CBA earning this distincition. First of all, as a student here, you will then learn from among the best faculty available in the very "heart of it all" - New York City, the world's center for commerce, finance, banking, media, advertising, and the arts. The college takes full advantage of its location and will immerse you in a dynamic educational environment that integrates classroom learning with real-world experience. Second of all, you will also join an impressive group of students who are investing in a broad range of career assets: knowledge, experience, business networks and values. These assets have not only lead to a fulfilling education for our students, but have also lead to graduating classes who rank among the top five in the nation in terms of starting salary.

Through our unique approach to business education, you will build a highly diversified portfolio of skills that are sought after in today's global economy. Further, through our Jesuit tradition, you will also invest in your "human portfolio" - you will develop self-awareness, concern for others, and the inner drive for personal excellence that will serve you throughout life.

Here are some of the highlights of our approach:

Academics
"Through the portfolio-based business program, I really gained a thorough understanding of every facet of business... Not only does this make me more well-rounded, it has differentiated me from my peers at other schools."

-Aaron Issacson, CBA '03
It starts with Fordham University's liberal arts core and broad exposure to the arts, society, history and philosophy. As you gain skills in critical thinking, communication, and logic, you explore questions of ethics and values and consider how your behavior and actions ripple out into society and the world. As you learn more about the wider world, you learn more about yourself, and your deepest aspirations.

A Jesuit education is student-centered. That's why you find small classes, filled with lively debates about the latest merger or breaking business news. Small classes also enable your professors to serve as mentors as well as teachers. And while business ethics is the buzzword today, the College of Business Education has focused on ethics and values since our founding in 1920.

The G.L.O.B.E. Program
CBA provides students with the chance to focus their education on International Business with the G.L.O.B.E. program.
G.L.O.B.E. (Global Learning Opportunities and Business Experiences) is one of our most popular specializations and combines your major program of study with international business courses and study abroad or international internships. Immersion in a foreign language and culture sets G.L.O.B.E. apart from other international business programs. Our students become proficient in another language and deeply familiar with another culture –skills and talents in critical demand at multinational firms, government agencies and international organizations. Annual visits to the United Nations and various embassies and chambers of commerce.

There are opportunities for local internships at international corporations but for the truly global business students opportunities for international internships exist in London, France, Dublin, and Beijing to mention a few.
