Teacher Certification Program
Fordham College at Lincoln Center, in collaboration with the Graduate School of Education, coordinates a teacher education track leading to certification.
Beginning in Fall 2007, students who intend to prepare for teaching careers will pursue the five-year teacher education track, which replaces the existing teacher certification program for Lincoln Center students. The new five-year combined degree track consists of the completion of an Arts & Sciences major, early admission to the Graduate School of Education for qualified students to take graduate courses during the student’s senior year, then a fifth year as a full-time student in the Graduate School of Education for course work and student teaching.
Graduates of this program are eligible to be certified teachers in the state of New York. Early advisement and coordination is an important feature of this track. Please note that any student who does not complete successfully all degree requirements will not be endorsed for New York State teacher certification by the Graduate School of Education.
Students who are interested in pursuing this program should contact the program advisor, Dr. Diana Caballero, Lowenstein 1102F, (212) 636-7546, email@example.com, during their freshman year.
