Francis P. Taylor III, Director and Academic Adviser, Office of Academic Advising for Student-Athletes

Frank Taylor is the Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes. In this capacity he serves the University community as a special staff officer for the Dean of Fordham College. He has direct responsibility to assist the Deans of Fordham College and the Gabelli School of Business in the academic development and degree progression for approximately 500 student-athletes. He has indirect responsibility to assist the Athletics Director and his staff in administrative interactions with staff and faculty as well as compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.

Frank was recruited for this position by the then Dean of Fordham College, Rev. Joseph M. McShane, in Fall 1995 to assist in the transition of the Fordham’s athletics program from the Patriot League to the Atlantic-10 Conference. Since that time the office has grown to include four other full-time members as well as a number of part-time student tutors.

Fank is a 1978 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He spent 14 years on active duty serving two tours of duty overseas in Korea as well as tours with divisional units at Fort Lewis, WA and Ft. Carson, CO. He received his Masters degree in American History from UCLA and taught from 1986-89 at West Point. After leaving active duty after Desert Storm, he has continued teaching at various private and community colleges. He currently serves as an adjunct instructor of history with Fordham College of Liberal Studies.

Frank and his wife Gina reside in Highland Falls, NY, with their two children, Frank and Sarah.
