Fellowships and Scholarships for Juniors

Current FCRH juniors are eligible to apply for one of the fellowships or scholarships described below.  Please contact rhdean@fordham.edu with any questions about the awards or the application process.  All applications must include an FCRH Scholarship cover sheet.

The Leahey Renaissance Student Award
 
Funded by the Leahey family in memory of Dr. Edward B. Leahey, Jr., FC '69, this five thousand and five hundred dollar ($5,500.00) fellowship is intended to help a student defray the cost of travel during the summer or fall of 2012. Applicants should be students with a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative average who are actively involved in the extracurricular life of the College. The fellowship committee will give special consideration to applicants whose travel plans show imagination and creativity.  Click here for the application.
 
The Tobin Travel Fellowships
 
Funded by the Tobin family and their friends to honor the memory of Mark Tobin, FC '89, this five thousand and five hundred dollar ($5,500.00) fellowship is intended to help a student defray the cost of travel during the summer of 2012. Applicants should have broad academic and extracurricular interests. The fellowship committee will give special consideration to applicants whose travel plans show imagination and creativity.  Click here for the application.
 
The George McMahon, S.J. Travel Fellowship
 
Funded by the Alumni Association of Fordham College to honor Fr. George McMahon, a former Dean of the College, this five thousand dollar ($5,000.00) fellowship is intended to help a student defray the cost of travel during the summer of 2012. The fellowship will be awarded to a student who is a member of the Fordham Club, the United Student Government, the Fordham University Band, or members of the University's intercollegiate sports teams.  Click here for the application.
 
The Class of 1989 Scholarship
 
Funded by the Fordham College and the Gabelli School of Business Classes of 1989 in memory of their classmates, Gregory Aiosa and Mark Tobin, this three thousand dollar ($3,000.00) scholarship is intended to help a student cover the cost of tuition during his/her senior year. Applicants should have good grades, and have contributed significantly to student life at Fordham.  Click here for the application.
 
The Michael J. Breslin III Scholarship
 
Funded by the Breslin family and their friends in memory of Michael J. Breslin III, GSB '87, this seven thousand and five hundred dollar ($7,500.00) scholarship is intended to help a student cover the cost of tuition in his/her senior year. Applicants should have broad academic and extracurricular interests. The recipient is selected on the basis of academic achievement and financial need with preference given to members of the Fordham Rugby Union Football Club.  Click here for the application.
 
The Edward A. Walsh Scholarship
 
This twenty thousand dollar ($20,000.00) scholarship honors the memory of one of Fordham's legendary professors of Communications. The scholarship is intended to help a student cover the cost of tuition during his/her senior year. Applicants must be Communication and Media Studies majors. Please consult the Department of Communication and Media Studies for details.
 
The Thomas Kavanagh Scholarship
 
Funded by a generous bequest of Thomas Kavanagh, a graduate of the University’s undergraduate School of Education, this twenty thousand dollar ($20,000.00) scholarship is intended to help a student cover the cost of tuition during his/her senior year. Applicants must be Communication and Media Studies majors. Please consult the Department of Communication and Media Studies for details.
