Departmental Tutoring Services

Note: For any subject area not listed below, please consult with the Associate Chair for Undergraduates of the department.

Classical Languages

Graduate students in the department can provide tutorial assistance to undergraduates. Students can consult either their professor or the Chair of the Department of Classics in FMH 428.

Computer Science

Tutoring is available for students in Structures of Computer Science (CISC 1100) and Discrete Structures (CISC 1400). For more information, contact: Palma Hutter, JMH 340, (718) 817-4480,


The Writing Center is located in Dealy E-533 and can be reached by phone at 718-817-4032.  Students can schedule appointments online at


The Economics Tutoring Center is located in Dealy E-535. The Economics Tutoring Center hours for the fall 2014 semester are Monday and Tuesday 10:00am - 5:00pm; Wednesday and Thursday 10:00am - 7:00pm. Students may also email for an appointment. 


The Math Help Room is located in JMH 410. Math Room hours for the spring 2014 semester are Monday through Friday 9:30am - 4:30pm. No appointment is necessary.

Modern Languages

The Philosophers' Society (Fordham's undergraduate philosophy club) offers a help room for undergraduate students seeking help understanding material from their core classes. Students are free to seek help from upperclass philosophy majors, to ask questions about material covered in their classes, and to seek help in writing successful papers.

The help room will be operating on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 pm at the outset, with additional times expected in the future.

The small meeting room in Collins Hall (Room 126) will be used as the default location; if the room is being used for departmental meetings or other events, the help room will be moved to the lobby in the basement.
