FCLS SCHOLARSHIPS

 

I. The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY
1. Women 25 years and older
2. Full time or part time undergraduate students of FCLS
3. 60 or more credits by September 2006

SUBMISSIONS
1. The Newcombe Application form, resume and personal statement
2. One (1) recommendation form completed by a member of the faculty familiar with your academic performance and career promise
3. The Newcombe Financial Aid Application

APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications are due in the FCLS - Lincoln Center Dean's Office by May 26, 2006. Mailing information can be found on the application.

Applications can be obtained at the FCLS Dean's Offices at Rose Hill (Keating 118), Lincoln Center (LL 301) and Tarrytown (Butler Hall Basement), or can be downloaded here.



II. The A.C.E., Ully Hirsch Memorial Scholarship, Anita Beddard Scholarship for Women, and the Morton Levy Scholarship for Men
ELIGIBILITY
1. Continuing, adult-entry undergraduate students of FCLS at Rose Hill, Lincoln Center and Tarrytown
2. Students must have a B or better average (3.0+) and have completed at least 24 credits at Fordham by the end of the Spring 2006 semester
3. All awardees must plan to register for a minimum of 12 credits over the course of the scholarship year (Summer 2006, Fall 2006 and Spring 2007)

SUBMISSIONS

2. Personal Statement
3. One (1) faculty recommendation - this MUST be completed by a faculty member with whom you have taken a course and who can consider your academic performance and should be sent by the faculty member direclty to the FCLS-LC Dean's Office, Room 301, by the April 14th deadline.

AWARDING OF SCHOLARSHIPS
A selection committee of faculty and administrators will review the application packets - including the personal statement, faculty recommendation and academic record.

There will be a total of 24 awards - 20 ACE awards of $2,000 for the academic year; 2 Ully Hirsch Scholarships of $2,200; one Anita Beddard Women's award of $2,000; and one Morton Levy Scholarship of $2,000.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome before the end of the Spring 2006 semester and submitted materials are kept confidential by the Dean's Office.
