The Credit for Life/Work Experience
Portfolio Process
The Seminar process, used in the past, was replaced in May 2006 with this powerpoint demonstration.
FCLS's streamlined portfolio assessment process offers students the opportunity to earn up to 32 college credits for their life/work experience. Each submission is worth a maximum of 4 credits. If you believe that your life/work experience relates to your degree program, you may be eligible to prepare a portfolio for review for college credit. Credit is granted for life/work experience that is equivalent to "college level learning" demonstrating a theoretical and practical understanding of the subjects being considered.
To be eligible to submit a portfolio for life/work experience a student:
• Must be matriculated.
• Must have accumulated at least 15 credits at FCLS.
• Can apply for no more than a maximum of 30 credits from a combination of portfolio assessment, ACE, and NPONSI
• Will be allowed to transfer only 75 credits including the number of credits for life/work experience.
• Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average above 2.5 for all classes taken at FCLS.
