By joining the more-than 30,000 CMAs working in organizations around the globe, you’ll increase your potential to earn more money, maintain better job security, and advance in your career.

Why is CMA the Essential Credential?
CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) is the advanced professional certification specifically designed to measure the advanced accounting and financial management skills that drive business performance in today’s complex and challenging business environment. The CMA is tailor-made for finance professionals at all levels whether you want to enhance your value to your current organization or advance your own career. To become certified, a candidate must pass both parts of the CMA exam, be a member of IMA®, the Association of Accountants and Professionals in Business, hold a bachelor's degree, and have two years of professional work experience in management accounting and/or financial management.

Invest in comprehensive CMA exam preparation.
The Fordham School of Professional and Continuing Studies offers a CMA exam preparation course, led by Fordham Graduate Business professor Jian Xiao ( The class will follow IMA’s CMA Learning System (CMALS), a comprehensive program that includes textbooks and online practice tests.

This approach combines printed materials and online components with the expertise of a Fordham professor and the discipline of a classroom setting. Content will be delivered in two convenient courses, mirroring the two parts of the CMA exam.

While the primary focus of each course is to prepare individuals for the CMA exam, it is also an excellent professional development tool for helping individuals advance their career in accounting, finance, or business management.

  • Fordham Graduate School of Business instructor Jian Xiao will reinforce key points and keep you on track for success.
  • A peer network is developed while you learn in a group environment.
