Internal Transfer Process

Acceptance of courses toward the requirements of the new college and major are contingent upon the approval of the transfer dean and the department chairperson of the new college.
All graded coursework will remain calculated into the student’s grade point average and earned credits.
Once the internal transfer has been approved, the student is considered a student of the new college. All remaining core and major courses must meet the requirements of the new college.
The recommended internal transfer application deadline for the spring semester is December 15th. The recommended deadline for the fall semester is May 15th.
If internally transferring to or from Fordham School of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS), be advised that tuition is billed differently than at Fordham College at Rose Hill (FCRH), Fordham College at Lincoln Center (FCLC), and Gabelli School of Business (GSB). Students should contact (718) 817-4900, or email studentaccts@fordham.edu, for tuition questions.

Internal Transfer Proceedings

2. If student seeks admission to GSB, student will need to attend a mandatory internal transfer information session before proceeding to step 3. For times and locations of the information sessions, contact the GSB Dean’s Office at (718) 817-4100. Student should bring the signed internal transfer application to this session.
3. Student should next schedule an appointment with the transfer dean of the college into which the student wishes to transfer. Student should bring the signed internal transfer application to this meeting:

HOUSING
Transferring to begin in the Spring semester

For transferring to begin in the fall semester, the following procedures:
1.  Each resident student must go through the housing lottery at his or her home campus during the spring semester.
2. Over the summer, the Offices of Residential Life at Lincoln Center and Rose Hill will make their best effort to exchange the housing assignments of internal transfers.  Please note that students must become matriculated at the new campus to be eligible for housing.
3. If an exchange is not available, a student may need to commute from his or her previous campus until housing is available at the new campus.  Please note that it is not an option to live at Lincoln Center if space is available at Rose Hill and vice versa.
