Faculty Fellowships


	FACULTY FELLOWSHIPS
	Academic Year Faculty Fellowships and Summer Faculty Fellowships are awarded to tenured faculty and non-tenured tenure-track faculty to carry out study and research required for academic development. Awards are made on the basis of demonstrated research competence of the applicant, the value of the project submitted, and its potential contribution to the University, to the applicant's scholarly community, and to the professional development of the faculty member. Please see the University Statutes 4-05.08 for further information. To apply for a faculty fellowship, please follow the instructions below. • Download a copy of the faculty fellowship application. Type your information into the WORD document and save the document on your computer. • Submit one hard copy of the faculty fellowship application, your curriculum vitae, and supporting materials to your Department Chair, or if your school is not organized into departments/divisions (i.e., professional schools), to your Dean no later than Friday, September 14th, 2007. • Send a signed original copy of the completed application together with your curriculum vitae and supporting documents to the Office of Faculty Fellowships and Internal Grants, Keating 222 (RH), or to 224 Lowenstein (LC) c/o Pat Crea, again no later than Friday, September 14th, 2007. • Email the completed document, curriculum vitae, and supporting materials as WORD attachments or PDF files to FacFellows@fordham.edu by Friday, September 14th, 2007. • If you have any questions, contact Angela O'Donnell, Coordinator of Research and Faculty Development, at aodonnell@fordham.edu or at (718) 817-4964. 	FACULTY RESEARCH GRANTS

	The Faculty Research Grant Program enables full-time faculty to pursue research projects that will lead to new publications and successful external funding applications. Grants provide seed money by providing funds to cover the costs of conducting research. The program gives priority to promising new lines of research, especially by junior faculty, and to pilot work for external funding applications. The deadline for applications is January 15th, 2008. 	FACULTY RESEARCH EXPENSE PROGRAM

	The goal of this program is to support and foster research and publication by faculty members. The two principal categories of support are RESEARCH PUBLICATION EXPENSES and RESEARCH PROPOSAL PREPARATION EXPENSES. The University Research Council and the Office of Research interpret "proposal preparation" broadly to include preliminary stages, such as preparation of data by research assistants and travel to collections.
