On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). You can read the full (407 page) Act document; The Alliance for Science & Technology Research in America has also summarized the information in this table. You can also learn more about the ARRA at http://www.recovery.gov, a website created "to provide each and every citizen with the ability to monitor the progress of the recovery."
What does all this mean for you? Many government sponsors have been given additional funding to support research and the creation of new jobs, funding which must be spent in the next two years. Because of the urgency, deadline dates are fast approaching.
A good place to start is on Grants.gov's "Recovery Act and Grants.gov" website, which provides a list of 25 Federal sponsor's ARRA pages, giving you a better idea of who has received money and their plans for its use. Below is a sampling of the currently posted funding opportunities from those sponsors.
