Beginning September 2008, the Office of Research embarked on a comprehensive review of current practices at Fordham University with regard to:
- University funding of research;
- The assistance provided to faculty applying for funding from outside the University; and
- The University's administration of those awards once received.
This review will by necessity entail cooperation and collaboration with the many administrative departments responsible for various facets of a faculty member’s grant over the life of an award.
The goal of this review is to move beyond current practice and embrace established and approved procedures that can then be published as University policy in the form of a comprehensive, on-line manual featuring electronic indexing for easy search and reference by all members of Fordham’s research community.
We appreciate your patience as the role of research at Fordham University continues to expand, and with it the infrastructure to support everyone’s efforts as we all work together to ensure our faculty are preeminent in their field, in our city, and among American Catholic institutions of higher education today.
