Application to the program is open to individuals possessing a bachelor's degree or equivalent; current Fordham University graduate students seeking to supplement their course of study with this degree program; and current Fordham University juniors wishing to apply for the combined five-year bachelor's and master's degree program. Admission procedure for the Master of Arts in Ethics and Society is determined by the guidelines established by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. All students in the program are expected to maintain a B+ average at the minimum. Admissions are made on a rolling basis. Students are invited to submit applications throughout the year for fall or spring admission.

The admission requirements for the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences are:
Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better is required.
GRE scores (The Fordham GSAS institution code is 2259. Allow 4–6 weeks for scores to be processed and sent to Fordham.)
Three letters of recommendation

If bachelor’s degree was granted from a university for which the language of instruction was other than English, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores are required
A statement of interest in, and match of the student’s goals for the program with the expertise and activities of the master's program. Students must provide evidence of training, education, or practical experience in an area related to the fields and topics encompassed by the master’s program.

Additional admission requirements of the Master of Arts in Ethics and Society program include:
Students are expected to have demonstrated some previous education (such as coursework), experience, or training in at least one of the core areas of ethics scholarship (philosophy, theology, or the human sciences/practice)
Students who do not meet the above requirements may be asked to complete an undergraduate courses prior to entry into the master’s program in order to orient them to the topics and methods of study of themaster’s program
GRADUATE ADMISSION (for those currently enrolled in a Fordham University graduate degree program)
Students may earn their primary degrees and the Master of Arts in Ethics and Society concurrently. Up to 12 credits earned in pursuit of the primary degree may be applied toward completion of the Master of Arts in Ethics and Society. The admission requirements are:
Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended, including Fordham University. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better is required. The applicant's current graduate GPA must also be 3.0 or better.
Three letters of recommendation

UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION(for current Fordham juniors interested in completing a five-year combined bachelor's and master's degree program)
Undergraduate students currently matriculated in one of the colleges of Fordham University with a GPA of 3.2 or better may apply in the spring semester of the junior year.
(Please see the important note about the GPA and financial aid below.)If accepted, students will take two of the foundational courses of the master's program during the senior year. Thesestudents will also take the three-day summer session course "Theories and Applications in Contemporary Ethics" in May, following the close of the spring term of the senior year. As full-time students, individuals who successfully complete two foundational courses and "Theories and Applications in Contemporary Ethics" during the undergraduate senior year and subsequent summer session may be able to earn a bachelor’s degree and the Master’ of Arts in Ethics and Society in a total of five years.The admission requirements are:

About financial aid during the post-bachelor's period:Only undergraduates with a GPA of 3.5 or better at the time an early-admission application is submitted will be eligible to apply for merit-based financial aid from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) to support graduate studies undertaken after the bachelor's degree has been earned. Using the typical five-year scenario to provide an example of what this means, only those juniors possessing a GPA of 3.5 or better at the time an early-admission application is submitted will be eligible to apply for merit-based financial aid to support the fifth year of study, i.e., the year following earning the bachelor's degree.
