The Fordham University HIV Prevention Research Ethics Training Institute has compiled a number of resources in HIV prevention and drug use research ethics for Institute participants, researchers, students, faculty and teachers, as well as the general public, including:

• NIH has released a statement indicating that NIDA and NIAAA will be functionally
integrated, but not structurally reorganized as had been under consideration. NIDA and
NIAAA will each retain their institutional identities.
• PRIM&R has issued a call for abstracts for their annual Advancing Ethical Research
Conference. Abstracts should fit into one of two categories: Programmatic, which describe
novel or innovative approaches to the management, function, and operations of IRBs or
HRPPs, or Scientific, which address empirical studies related to research ethics.
• The Fordham HIV Prevention Research Ethics Training Institute is now accepting
applications for the 2013 summer program. The year 3 program will be held July 7-17,
2013. Applications for the program are due March 8, 2013.
