The Center for Teaching Excellence supports all who teach at Fordham in their goals to improve as teachers. Among other resources, here you can access information about teaching the new Core Curriculum and its Eloquentia Perfecta requirements. The CTE regularly offers the following programs:
Teaching Seminars: basic and more advanced discussions of the new core's speaking and writing requirements, focusing on understanding the goals of the requirements, on using instruction in writing or speaking as instruction in course content, and on innovative ways to combine speaking and writing.
Teaching Forums: open to all who teach at Fordham, not only teachers of EP classes, EP Forums are conversations among faculty that address any and all concerns we have as teachers. Topics change each month, but there is always room for off-topic questions, comments, and discussion.
Ignatian Pedagogy Discussions: lunchtime discussions of the goals, experiences, methods, and concerns of teaching in an Ignatian tradition.
The CTE also offers a growing menu of services for Fordham teachers, including consultations over course design and instructional methods, mid-term feedback, and video classroom consultations. We adhere to a strict confidentiality and neutrality policy.
